In California, that's at least a $25,000,000 recovery in an early, fast settlement. In the accident location, the bus company will charge the passengers for their medical care! Never even dented that train engine. "Been there, done that." |

Random observation #2: The oncoming cars created an illegal third lane of stopped cars occupying the bus' lane, on both sides of the RR track. Bus footage shows that the bus slowed to take a tight turn to avoid the queued cars. The bus would have been going around his own RR gate as well, making the turn extra tight. Not to excuse the bus driver, but s/he may not have expected this line of cars when deciding to skirt the RR gate and shoot the crossing.  · |
