Re: Traffic Police Officer Stabbed to Death by Drunk Motorist in the Backseat
First of all, this guy should have been searched if he was going to be put in the back seat of the car behind the officers. Secondly, the cops do NOT see the worst of the worst everyday. The majority of the time they are dealing with regular average people. They shoot unarmed people CONSTANTLY because they are poorly trained and eager to kill. You think it's just some coincidence that American police kill record numbers of citizens every day compared to Canada or European countries? American police killed more citizens in the month of MARCH, 2015, than England's police has killed since the year 1900. Why is that? Is that because American citizens are the most violent people on the planet? Doubtful. It's because of the stupid policies put in place including police training. NRA & gun rights advocates want to flood America with guns and have done so successfully and to the NRA's financial benefit. The police force hires a bunch of uneducated hillbillies and trains them to assume all suspects are violent threat. Then fox "news" convinces America that all black people are 'thugs' or have friends that are 'thugs'. THat is why American police shoot record numbers of citizens every SINGLE DAY. |

Re: Traffic Police Officer Stabbed to Death by Drunk Motorist in the Backseat
This certainly is not an example to defend the cops. As stated before, if they had done their job properly, this guy would never have had the chance to do this anyway. Why was he placed behind the officers without being checked for weapons, and handcuffed? I get what you're saying, but this is not an example to defend cops. A taxi driver could have been killed the same same way and they cannot cuff their passengers, so who has the more dangerous job? Statistically, more gas station clerks are killed each year than police officers (who have means to defend themselves I might add) but I do agree cops do find themselves in danger a lot. However, they put themselves in danger a lot too. And making the public distrust or hate them puts them in even more danger. To look at the big picture, cops are in MUCH more danger since they took on the role of paramilitary goon squads than they did when they were in the role of "peace officers". I hate the fact police are becoming hated more and more each day, but most of it is their own fault. I have many cops in my family including my dad. But the the fact remains the same, they are doing to themselves.
