Re: Toronto Police Shooting Of Mentally Ill Man Released
I'm the first to admit that some police officers far overstep their bounds, with tasers, simple battery, and guns. I'm amazed, though, by how many people here seemingly wouldn't have a problem with a mental patient walking directly towards them, with a knife, and ignoring commands to simply drop the weapon. WITH GUNS POINTED AT HIM. You'd let him get that close to you? You're out of your minds. The man wanted to die by being shot, and he did. Here's a tip: don't walk directly at a bunch of armed men, while holding a knife, and ignore commands to drop it. |

Re: Toronto Police Shooting Of Mentally Ill Man Released
heres a tip for your hellm, you can shoot to disable and shoot to kill, this officer shot to kill, 3 shots to be exact. this dude couldve shot him in the knee and the dude would have dropped. So lets just shoot him once, and drop him, and then shoot him 2 more times for good measure, then kick him, stomp him, cuff him, and stand back while EMS tries to fix our small man syndrome, how dare you disobey my authority response. standard procedure is double tap not 3. He was 20 feet from the cop that shot him, and not even going in his direction. It seems to me like this cop wanted to use his weapon and show his dang thin blue line brothers that he was hardcore and good to go when the going got "tough" And im in no way hating on the cops, i think they are there to serve and fucking protect and thats it, but this here was an action of a damn pig.He decided that day he was judge, jury and executioner, because how dare this man come near him with scissors, he couldve stepped the hell back like the rest of his BETTER trained fellow officers who seemed to have a damn soul, and diffused the situation without lethal weapons involved.

Re: Toronto Police Shooting Of Mentally Ill Man Released
WRONG ad infinitum. warning shots and "disabling" shots are for the movies, not real life.

Don't try to talk sense into people who want to claim "excessive force" with any cop scenario no matter the details.

Re: Toronto Police Shooting Of Mentally Ill Man Released
They're out there [coppers] in difficult circumstances but the whole scene seemed messy. Vehicles, offices all over the place and then to see them walking backwards hold a weapon. Welllllllllllllllll. Personally I thought that looked kinda dangerous for everyone. I can’t help feeling that one of them should have tried to use a taser first; there was more than enough [over seven] coppers with hand weapons aimed that could have shot if necessary. We just had a similar event 4 hours ago here. Man tasered then shot by WA police |
