From the local news there: On the morning of Thursday, July 31, 2025, around 07:15, residents of the Peñafiel de Abajo enclosure, in the Mocache canton (province of Los Ríos), warned about the presence of several abandoned bags next to a third-order road. Inside there were dismembered human remains. The lifting of the bodies was carried out the next day, on Friday, August 1, at 09:10, with the presence of Criminalistics agents and by order of the prosecutor on duty. Four jute bags containing anatomical pieces corresponding to three men were found at the site, all with sharp wounds and obvious signs of dismemberment. During the procedure, the experts found on one of the sacks a pamphlet with the threat: "ALL THOSE WOLVES... THEY ARE GOING TO DIE", which suggests a retaliation linked to organized crime. The police are investigating whether this fact is directly related to the massacre that occurred days earlier in El Empalme, Guayas province. Two victims identified In the morgue of the Quevedo canton, two of the bodies were recognized by relatives as: * LJRG 21, from Balzar. * CIRC 25 years old, from El Empalme. Both were cousins and lived in the Pimocha sector, in El Empalme. According to Linder Rivas' sister-in-law, the young people left on the afternoon of Wednesday, July 30, around 12:45, aboard a motorcycle with IV349R plates, bound for the San Antonio sector to participate in an indor game. From that moment on, no more was heard from them, until they were found dead. The third body has not yet been identified, but also showed signs of extreme violence. All the remains were transferred to the Quevedo morgue for the corresponding forensic procedures. A connection with the massacre of the La Cantina bar? The hypothesis of a possible link with the massacre perpetrated on Sunday, July 27 at the La Cantina bar, located in the La Guayas parish (El Empalme canton), is gaining strength. That attack left 17 people killed and at least 11 injured, becoming one of the bloodiest massacres of the year. According to police sources, the alleged target of the attack would have been JAPS , alias 4K, brother of BP, nicknamed the "Zar of drugs." The latter was arrested in June 2024 during a drug party in El Empalme and sentenced for illegal possession of weapons. Both would be linked to the criminal organization Los Choneros. The authorities do not rule out that the bodies found in Mocache are victims of direct revenge derived from the disputes between criminal gangs operating in the region |
