That was my first thought too because I'm REALLY againt even the slightest cop brutality. The cop was on the hood of the car though, so if the guy was going to speed off he could've killed the cop. I think if he didn't shoot then the cop really could've been killed.

I saw another video where a cop jumped in front of a slow moving car and starts shooting the driver, calling it self defense. Deadly weapon it may be, but it's not a gun you can point at any direction.

Now, this is not about the criminals right, it's about everyone's right to be tried in a fair court, punished accordingly and not by a rambo cop's split decision by escalating it into a deadly situation in the first place.
