Re: Teenage Girl Collapses and Dies, Shortly After Receiving Tetanus Vaccine
Td vaccines are wideley studied and are the safest of all vaccines, esp. the ones they have nowadays. 120 others were also vaccinated from the same batch and nothing happened. She ate multi-grain flatbread which is good to do before taking a vaccine but the weather was humid and around 90°F so perhaps she didn't drink enough and fainted and died from the fall when her head hit the pavement. Although there are around 3 (two in Germany) cases where people died from the vaccine shot but that was ages ago and the vaccine is even more safer now. The time frame of collapsing and dying is the time frame the others also died so maybe she is one out of billions that got a fatal allergic reaction to a certain substance of this vaccine. They're conducting an autopsy so hopefully that brings some more clarity. |

Re: Teenage Girl Collapses and Dies, Shortly After Receiving Tetanus Vaccine
If someone **collapses immediately after a vaccine injection**, the most likely explanations are **not** an air bubble. The timing itself gives important clues. The most common causes are: 1. **Vasovagal syncope (fainting)** – by far the most common. * Triggered by the needle, pain, anxiety, or even seeing the syringe. * The nervous system briefly slows the heart rate and lowers blood pressure. * Blood flow to the brain drops for a few seconds, causing the person to faint. * It often happens **within seconds to a minute** of the injection. * Recovery is usually quick once the person lies flat. 2. **Anaphylaxis (rare but serious).** * A severe allergic reaction to a vaccine component. * Usually begins within minutes, though it can occur later. * Signs include difficulty breathing, wheezing, swelling of the lips or throat, widespread hives, dizziness, or persistent low blood pressure. * This is a medical emergency and is why vaccination sites keep emergency medications such as epinephrine available. 3. **Stress-related reactions.** * Some people hyperventilate or have a panic response. * This can cause dizziness, tingling, lightheadedness, and occasionally fainting. ### What about the air bubble? A small air bubble in a vaccine syringe **would not normally cause someone to collapse**. Vaccines are almost always injected into **muscle** or just under the skin, not directly into a vein. A tiny amount of air in muscle is generally harmless and is not expected to produce sudden loss of consciousness. ### If you're referring to a video Videos on social media can be misleading because they often end right after someone falls. A person fainting from a vasovagal reaction can look dramatic—they may slump to the ground or briefly have some muscle jerks—but still recover completely within a minute or two. |
