Wanted to clear up a few misconceptions: 1) This ride is not a carnival ride, it is a permanent structure at one of the many "mini-theme park" type attractions in Orlando. They are held to the same ride safety standards as the bigger theme parks. 2) It seems quite a few people totally missed the guy in the blue shirt clearly on the phone (assuming 911) check on the young man a few different times. It was pretty clear that surviving that fall wasn't going to happen. At best agonal breathing. 3) The kid was big, yes. But 6'5" at 14 is more than just a fat-rich diet, hes just got big genetics too. |

That child was way too big to be riding on that ride, even if the ride had seatbelts it wouldnt have connected in the first place. That one thing could have saved this kids life in two ways, not letting him on in the first place or stopping him falling out when he was on the ride.

This happened right down the street from me. Such a shame ....he probably thought the ride was over because it was slowly going down. Looks like he undid the seatbelt which is the only thing keeping him from sliding out.  |
