Perhaps you don't realize that the Soviet government for decades educated children that there is no god. The bible is a myth. Children were taught to report thier parents to authorities for teaching religion. A standard punishment was 13 years in prison for child abuse if a parent was caught teaching a child to pray and having bible lessons in the home. Both acts were punishable. I know because a good friends father spent years and years in prison for teaching him to pray. As a child he was forced to testify against his parents. He didn't realize what would happen when he admitted that his father taught him to pray and read to him out of the bible. So they ended up taking his father away for 13 years. Every one of the days his father was gone the boy prayed for his father. The whole family continued in praye and bible studies. Eventually the father was released and the family allowed to emigrate to Israel. Then on to USA where I met them. There are still Christians and Jews in Russia who are religious and they are the nice ones. You just can't predict what atheists will do. Most are nice but more than a few are like these guys. They don't value human life.
