Re: Takfirenheit 187
You and I both. You wouldn't believe how much time this shit takes. And how deep the sting of errors can be as well. It's like concrete work I imagine--anything that needs changing is only accessed by ruining everything along the timeline from the point you're at backwards to the problem. That's to say, any little thing you change destroys all subsequent work--even a slip of the mouse, or a cranky 40 gram bird barging across your keyboard can be an effing piss-soaked lash of a bummer. I aborted a huge Brazil project after collecting, renaming, organizing, trimming, resizing, de-watermarking, and reformatting almost 500 individual clips, only to find out that the Trick-Pig of a program I use feels it best to anonymize all files before feeding them through some digital version of one of those Bingo crank jumblers. It is kinda funny how long it actually takes to do though. I'm getting quicker, and I've always dug collecting footage--having insane shit to perpetually rummage through, but collating it like this is just absurd. I'll be awake for like 50 hours, coffee, candy, and cigarettes--only. Impress myself into a laughing ball on my floor, at how the pieces finally interlock into unintended surprise themes--new ideas branch away, and the idea of mailing the video to that/or any Aerobics class. Working on two monitors over an ashtray, ears half boxed from headphones. Strait up toiling, like I already blew an advance for curing Alzheimer's on amphetamines, and Segway scooter timeshares...and "Oh, would you look at that 00:28:906! I'm about to break the 30 second mark." "If I go to sleep now it might only take 30 hours to get those distorted plucking sounds to hush, and scar over in my mind. |

Re: Takfirenheit 187
That one is not war or violence related at all. A gas leak explosion. This year in Georgia I think. I use some seriously out of context material in these sometimes, just because they look cool or have high enough frame rates to be able to eff around with play speeds. I remembered that it's just sitting on my desktop.

Re: Takfirenheit 187
I freaking love slow motion anything. It's funny, most the Owl footage is just amateur, the fox and weird mouse is BBC, and the only National Geographic in there in the one clip of the crazy gatling burst firing out the back of a helicopter.

Re: Takfirenheit 187
Did you catch the Aqua Teen in there? Carl flashing back to Christmas when he was a kid, and his dad wants him to boil and eat carpet before going to work at the asbestos mine. Then that giant robot foot stamps in through their roof, and the lasers knock everything everywhere.
