Re: Taiwan: Man Accidentally Shoots Himself In The Head While Playing With Pistol
I think that the first time he pressed it to his head the gun went out of battery and this wouldn’t fire when he pulled the trigger. He held it differently the second time and it went off.

Re: Taiwan: Man Accidentally Shoots Himself In The Head While Playing With Pistol
Appreciate your perspective. Guns are weapons and while they can/are fun to train with, that should never be forgotten. The mentality that they're toys despite their capability tends to aggregate towards unsafe handling (the gun's color likely contributed to the recklessly stupid behavior) so the emphasis on safety as a baseline is better. Had he taken basic safety steps and perhaps even just added the likes of a barrel block, then he could've used it a more care-free way. Hell, buy an actual blue gun and you can flag any and everyone without worrying about an ND. Paintball is another great option. Safety measures should always be taken with the likes of and katanas as well. It takes comparatively little to be safe with guns, even with the commonly known four rules of gun safety. |

Re: Taiwan: Man Accidentally Shoots Himself In The Head While Playing With Pistol
A bizarre death case was recently reported in Longtan District, Taoyuan City. A man and two teenagers visited the home of a man surnamed Tsai. Tsai took out a modified handgun to show off, even holding the gun against his forehead. Unexpectedly, the gun misfired, causing his tragic death. The visiting friends, terrified, panicked and fled the scene. The police and prosecutors are now investigating the source of the bullets. The incident occurred on October 31. In the afternoon, a burly man accompanied by two teenagers visited the house of his 43-year-old friend, surnamed Tsai, in Jinlong Road, Longtan District. Tsai, on a whim, took out a modified handgun to play with and daringly pressed the muzzle against his forehead. To everyone's shock, the gun went off. Tsai holding the modified gun to his head. After receiving the report, the police investigated and the house's surveillance cameras recorded the entire incident. The deceased initially claimed the gun malfunctioned and couldn't fire. However, when he pulled the trigger, it fired, killing him instantly. The two teenagers were so frightened that they crouched on the sofa. Seconds later, all three hurriedly left the scene. Tsai's wife, hearing the gunshot, came downstairs to discover the tragic incident. Despite being rushed to the hospital, the victim did not survive. |

Misfired? Looks like the gun worked as designed. His brain cells misfired.
