Re: Taiwan - Car Obliterates Bikers
I'm no EMT, but i carry fire extinguishers, tourniquets, first aid kits and gloves in every vehicle I own. I've stopped vehicle fires, extricated injured from crashed vehicles, stopped bleeding, stabilized the airways of seizures, stabilized physical injuries, comforted the dying, directed traffic away from people in the roadway, performed basic triage, even CPR... There's MUCH the layman can do if you have at least a room temp IQ... |

Re: Taiwan - Car Obliterates Bikers
You are to be congratulated on being an exemplary citizen, though IQ has little to do with the tasks you claim to have accomplished. It is a matter of training to be able to do such things as extricating the injured (without making their injuries worse), stopping bleeding, stabilizing airways, and CPR. I would certainly want you to be present if ever I found myself an accident victim in need of some of the above assistance. The one thing you mention that a completely untrained person could do - directing traffic so as to avoid further harm at the scene - makes sense if you happen to be among the first there, a need exists for it, and nobody else has taken this task upon himself. |

Re: Taiwan - Car Obliterates Bikers
So many near misses right there…. I wonder what happened with the drive that caused this. Besides being 78 that is.
