First they beat him up with an iron pipe, break his ribs and probably puncture his lungs and then suddenly start acting like they give a fuck. Fucking animals.

They are only trying to revive him to beat him more.

That's how it works. The goal of torture isn't to kill you. It's to keep you alive as long as possible and in as much pain as possible until either you give them what they want or they can't bring you back. Sometimes they don't want anything from you. They just want to make an example of you and keep you suffering as long as possible.
