I've seen this double slap in other "official" executions. Humane in that it signals to the victim that the executioner is ready and that the end is nigh. The executioner was thoroughly professional in his preparations and in the execution of (pardon the pun!) his remit. If I had to exit the world in this manner - I rather it be at the hands of a professional. |
