LMFAO, right? You will live a lot longer being sawed at from the rear vs the front. Loss of conciousness from blood loss to the brain is faster than suffocating to death due to paralysis...

Yeah you might want to go ahead and put it back in your pants; that's not how it works.

Asphyxiation from a broken neck is caused by trauma to a specific area of the cervical spine.

If a spinal cord is completely severed, the blood pressure to your brain drops as quickly or even quicker than having both carotid arteries completely severed.

There might be an interesting discussion to be had if people were cutting the spine from the back of the neck and then leaving the front of the neck intact, but in practice, every single "from the back" beheading I've seen includes the executioner sailing through the front of the neck and achieving full decapitation quickly once they get through the spine.

Meanwhile, it's obvious that "from the front" beheadings rarely have a quick and complete severing of the carotid arteries.

We've all watched countless videos where the executioner saws away at the front of the neck for an agonizing eternity while the victim suffers through the horrible discomfort of having their trachea severed/etc.

The difference is that so often people have a utensil that can saw through the soft flesh in the front of the neck but take forever to get through the spine, and that means that the person generally suffers far more.

That's why if you want it to be quick, you go through the trachea from behind by sliding the knife into the neck behind it, then turning the blade and cutting ventrally. At least, that's how it was explained to me. Maybe some of these guys don't want it to be that quick.

Let's have you cite a credible source to back up your claims, specifically the blood pressure drop in relation to the severing of the spinal column...

Speed is very simple, don't be a dumb ass and try to cut through bone when you can easily cut BETWEEN the vertebrae via the disk instead...

Hey, maybe the Chechclear guy knew what he was doing then.

Okay, but are you going to cite a credible source to back up your claim that everyone who gets their cervical spine severed suffocates to death? I didn't think so, because it's not true.

The nerves that control breathing are around the C3-C5 area which ends just below the level of the neck parallel to the jaw. The majority of beheadings I've seen occur around the middle neck which is at the base of the Cervical spine (C6-C7).

Complete severing of the spine in the C6-C7 area results in neurogenic shock, which causes a very sudden and fatal drop in blood pressure when the severing is complete. There's literally an entire wikipedia article on it:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Neurogenic_shock

Of course, you're just looking for an out because you now know that my original point was correct regardless of the physiology of cervical spine trauma.

Even if it was true that cervical spine trauma always results in suffocation death, in practice it wouldn't have any bearing on my original point because 100% of beheadings from behind that I've seen progress to a complete decapitation far too quickly for the type of cervical spine trauma to matter.

It'd be hard to view the dozens of beheading videos featured in this forum and try to make case that "from the front" beheadings are less uncomfortable than "from the back" beheadings.

Pathetic. They need more practice.

Yeah, suffering was the goal there. The behind-the-trachea approach was explained to me by a combat vet. I'd imagine it's a pretty commonly-trained technique at this point, even among militant groups. If they're sawing, even odds probably says it's not because they don't know any better.

You are wrong. A close personal friend of mine is a Perfusionist and laughed at what you claimed. Fact is he could keep a severed head alive indefinitely if he kept his heart/lung machine connected. So, nice try anyways...

The vast majority of C.O.D. for tetraplegics is respiratory failure...

WTF does how long someone can live on a heart and lung machine have to do with whether or not they die during a beheading?

Again, you're looking for an out because your original argument holds no water for reasons I continue to point out.

Every single beheading from the back that I've ever seen results in death by complete decapitation long before cervical spine trauma matters much.

You continually ignore that because you're looking for a way out of admitting that your original post was bullshit, so I guess we'll just have to leave it at that.

BTW, since you're all about citing "sources for claims" unless they're your own, here's a link to a bunch of studies about the cause of death for tetraplegics:
