At a supermarket in Montes Claros, Minas Gerais state, Brazil, a 20-year-old employee, Zélia M.R., was stabbed several times by her ex-boyfriend. According to witnesses, the ex approached Zélia at the checkout. She attempted to run away, but her ex ultimately caught up to her.

The killer was arrested shortly afterwards. He claimed that he had broken up with Zélia after discovering she had "betrayed" him.
