Agreed. The water has what's called surface tension (hence why water bugs are able to float on it, and allegedly Jesus |

Re: Suicide Jumpers From The Movie, The Bridge
For those who do not know this simple fact, water cannot be compressed, however due to it's liquidity it will disperse if not contained this is the reason for the splash when jumpers hit it. Because water cannot be compressed hitting it at a flat angle rather then say a "pin drop" or dive the effects are as devastating as hitting a solid mass. |

Re: Suicide Jumpers From The Movie, The Bridge
Entering the water at slower speeds (5 to 20 feet for ex:) allows it to be displaced so the impact is not as great (depending on your form) At 22 stories high, the body falls near maximum velocity and hits with crushing impact. Bones break, muscle tears and organs burst. If you're not killed instantly, you drowned soon after. Not pretty either way |

Re: Suicide Jumpers From The Movie, The Bridge
Niagara Falls is the second most popular. Igrew up there. They have helicopter landing pad in the lower gorge to retrieve bodies. Floaters is what they find. 1-2 week in water before coming up. Go check out the Wirlpool if you are ever in Niagara Falls (paid tours or free hikes). With the mega casino there are alot more. You can go watch them fish them out. it is not restricted or forbidon area. Just a matter of fact.
