Re: Suicide Jumpers From The Movie, The Bridge
One suicide victim who committed suicide by jumping from the Golden Gate Bridge left behind a note saying: “I’m going to walk to the bridge. If one person smiles at me on the way, I will not jump.”

Re: Suicide Jumpers From The Movie, The Bridge
Hitting the water from that height is like hitting concrette. What I can't understand is why people who see someone about to jump just carry on like no one has seen them? And why aren't there suicide barriers in place? We now have them on the Westgate bridge in Melbourne Victoria, Australia although no pedestrians are allowed on the bridge, they just stop their cars and jump. The shit hit the fan, literally, when a dad threw his 4 year old daughter off the highest part of the bridge a few years ago BUT passerbyes stopped him as he tried throwing his other two kid's off as well. His daughter actually survived, due to having her bones still developing, but died a few minutes later after being pulled from the water. Since then there have been 3 more suicides this year alone. |

Re: Suicide Jumpers From The Movie, The Bridge
Just watched the documentary last night and it was quite moving. I have to say, it made me tear up a couple times. Some people don't understand how hard it is to live with a serious mental illness like schizophrenia or manic depression. Life is a living hell.
