She wasn't allowed to go home to Singapore for her mother's funeral... in 2017. She also left handwritten notes that she was receiving very poor treatment from her employers. Burmese maid who committed suicide to be cremated in Singapore |

Re: Suicide Jump
Poor girl. I've worked in Singapore and I can tell you that they're are many indentured workers that are basically like slaves. They have a contract with employers that doesn't really give them any rights. They're paid poorly and they are charged for their housing and uniforms and transportation to and from their place of employment. We had to hire a few people when I was doing a cruise ship remodel at the Sembawang Ship Port and he was really good. He told us how much he was paid and how the contracts work. We felt so bad for him that we paid him a bonus out of our own per diem because he was worth way more than he was being paid. Unfortunately this goes on all over the world. Shocking for this day and age.

Re: Suicide Jump
Instead of suicide she shoulda stabbed all her bosses to death then jumped. Two birds with one stone.

Re: Suicide Jump
Her sisters posted the letter on social media hoping the government would read it. “We are writing to you, government of Singapore, to protect the Myanmar domestic helpers working in Singapore. “The loss of our sister was (due to her being) ill-treated by her employer with no proper meals, no food and only water. She has written to us to prove her difficult days with her employer.” This picture shows the alleged letter that the victim had sent to her sisters. |
