As someone who has lived in upstate New York, I can safely say witnessing someone walking around barefoot this time of the year at 3am is a totally justifiable reason to contact law enforcement in and of itself, it's like the arctic circle in that bitch.

On the one hand, this is absolutely fucking tragic. That this young man felt that this was his only option. Growing up in a country that absolutely fucking hates you for being black, while proudly calling itself the best, is truly horrorshow. On the other hand, and don't get me wrong, I'm no misogynist (I'm more accurately a misanthrope), I wonder if that poor boy would still be alive today if that female officer ripped open her shirt, threw away her vest, exposed those sweet melons and shouted "FREE BOOBIES HERE!!!!". And wouldn't that GUARANTEE that we were the best country? |

How about a Gun that shoots a net on you . Many devices that can used. I guess the state rather police take the life of someone cause it would be cheaper then implementing non-kill weapons  |

Lock doors. Hit him with the car. I took a very interesting class on less lethal use of deadly force. Sounds paradoxical, but was for deals like this. Like shooting to wound. True, you might kill him shooting him in the thigh if you hit an artery and don't get a tourniquet on it fast enough, but you may also shatter his femur and drop him with a survivable wounds. Doesn't work in ever deadly force encounter, but is especially for suicide by cop incidents. But there were several points 8n the video he could have given him a love tap with the bumper and knocked him down. Endless retreating only moved him from a position to be shot in front of hard cover, the brick wall, and not injuring a third party to shooting him on a busy street with no backstop. |

There is a new device like this being field tested. Wraps a steel wire around the person and immobilizes their arms and or legs. Called the Bolawrap.

Yeah, shooting him was. I’m tired of you apologists insisting that non-lethal sources be waited on. This suspect advanced at Officers and they give him more than a chance. When the suspect rushed toward the officer he was dealt with appropriately. I’m tired of people using mental issues as an excuse. A suspect with a knife is more of a threat than one with a gun. Perhaps you should get hired with a PD and show us all how it’s done. Seriously, quit being an armchair quarterback and show us. This isn’t the movies dude!!!
