"Better shoot now before he charges and stabs our bullet proof vests."  keyword there buddy is bulletproof not knife proof. There's a difference between how a knife impacts and a bullet. The bullet impact is dispersed through the vest enough to absorb the shock, though you still have bruising. The knife, however, has a sharper point and can penetrate between the fabric of the vest and actually stab you.  BOOM  |

You do know if someone is within 21ft while holding a knife, and is a threat to you.....you are justified to use deadly force...anyone with basic firearms training and a CCW knows that
