Middlefield Police release dashcam video of fatal shootout during March 10 traffic stop

Middlefield Police have released the dash cam footage of the deadly March 10 officer-involved shooting in which a Mentor-on-the-Lake man was killed and two officers were injured.

The nearly 2 1/2 minute video begins by showing Officers Brandon Savage and Erin Thomas driving southbound at about 5:55 p.m. on Route 608, when a green Saturn failed to stop at the intersection of 608 and East High Street.

The officers enacted the traffic stop a short distance north of the intersection. As the officers prepared to approach the vehicle, the video appears to show the officers discussing movement in the Saturn.

Oh wow he actually did aim. They just were no longer sitting up. That's a decent group on the windshield. He also had plenty of mags he never got to use. And he's firing a 7.62 like I said. No green tips though

Just left the range yesterday with my new M&P AR. I was getting millimeter groups much further away then this guy was. In other words, had he aimed or really wanted to kill those cops, it wouldn't have been hard. He also looks to be firing a .308. Nasty round

Did you hear the "good samaritan" that weakly mewls "You alright? I got a pist-" Officer(s): "GET THE FUCK BACK... NOW!" He wanted to join the fight. Apparently the officers were more seriously wounded than originally thought. The woman lost a finger.
