And the slowmotion here. She points at the train.
She's like Babe Ruth calling her shot. Haha.

Re: Suicidal Woman Waving at an Oncoming Freight Train Before Getting Hit by It

The camera man should of been tied to the tracks. Plenty of time to grab that kid. Fucking savages. And the train never hit the emergency brakes. Well if they have any.
I don't think that had anything to do with it. I'm sure she explained to them she packed her luggage and was waiting for the train. Either that or she desperately wanted her video go to viral.

I feel bad for the operators of the train. They have to live with the fact that they couldn't stop in time.
Couldn't stop in time? They probably sped up.

She got hit head first and all, never felt a thing. Well played.
It even looks like she leaned forward, lining her face up better. Haha. What a champ.

Re: Suicidal Woman Waving at an Oncoming Freight Train Before Getting Hit by It

That was a professional check out
And a disturbingly professional recording.

The slo-mo makes it look like s/he's carefully framing the shot to catch all the action, and then s/he quickly pans just the right amount to follow the gore. A bystander will tend to move a bit and be unfocused, as they're not trying to record gore. Also, it's surprisingly hard to get a good idea what you're recording unless you're watching the screen intently (which a bystander near train tracks probably shouldn't do), but this is all in frame, well framed, from a good position ao close to the action as you can be while still staying clear of any danger, with next to no pacing or other such movement, and everything is caught in one go, nothing missed.

At the very least, the camera(wo)man was paying attention to the technical aspects of recording this, and the circumstances might seem to suggest this recording was planned, which could imply that the incident itself was planned, as well. And, generally speaking, friends close enough that you'd ask them to record your suicide aren't going to be calm about watching you kill yourself.

Finally, as others have pointed out, if you're actually that calm, you've got time to grab this person by the arm and pull them aside from the tracks, or at least make a decent attempt at doing so.

I'm not saying it's a snuff flick, but it's certainly a lot less random than I'd expect. One in a million shots in India will happen, given the population count. But it's still a bit disturbing.

Looks like she's a pro. I bet this ain't the first time she's doing this.

Re: Suicidal Woman Waving at an Oncoming Freight Train Before Getting Hit by It

"And a disturbingly professional recording."

Why disturbing? Most folks here are grateful for such quality in a recording, not "disturbed" by it. And why would you, if in position to make the recording, even entertain the notion of interfering with the action? What right would you have to attempt to veto another person's decision to end his/her life? The most common justification offered for such meddling (unless the person is someone close to the meddler) is that human life has a transcendent intrinsic value which makes it worth preserving. This line of thought is ultimately grounded on the belief in the existence of a giver of such value, and thus is religiously based.
