Suicidal Woman Climbs Bridge and Jumps into the Passaic River
Police found the body of a woman who jumped off a bridge at the lower end of Haledon Avenue in Paterson on Sunday afternoon. Paterson police received a phone call around 4:15 p.m. that a woman had climbed onto the top of the bridge and had jumped, said Police Director Jerry Speziale. Her body was found in the Passaic River near Holsman Street later Sunday. A video surfaced of the woman's alleged suicide and was passed around social media, Speziale said. He said police had yet to identify the woman and were searching for her identity and next of kin. "It appears to be a suicide," Speziale said. "But we don't know what was in her mind." |
