I would imagine it's fast and relatively painless. That said, regardless of my state of mind, i don't think i could keep my nerve and stay down as the train comes closer and closer.

I would say that there is a short period of time that you are still conscious after your head is severed and during that time the vibrations from the train would be wicked. The loud clicking and wind and thudding vibrations.
