Just thinking out loud here.. what's the point in stopping the train? Conductor should call it in and proceed. There isn't really a crime scene investigation, is there?

Guess they don't want to arrive at the next station with bits and pieces of him hanging on the train.

Some train drivers even get out of the train but then you get even more traumatized when you see parts dangling everywhere and you aren't a regular visitor of this site and built up a thicker skin.

There is camera footage proving what happened. I just don't see the sense in dinging the train's "on-time" performance stats. Not to mention, if this is a passenger train there's a whole lot of folks gonna be late for something.

I guess they try to help authorities pinpoint the location and hand over the footage. Always a small chance they just maimed themselves as well. Anyone who commutes on trains regularly will tell you how absolutely everything grinds to a hault, for hours and hours, after something like this. And it's fairly regular, sadly.

I always get a kick out of people who claim that the train engineer was "traumatized for life" or some other such nonsense. Oh I suppose that there are a few overly sensitive people who get into this line of work, but I suspect that for most it's just another story to tell their buddies in the bar.
