What an idiot....he might have lived but even after he was shot and down he still insists on making stabbing motions with his knife and proceeded to get well ventilated by some lead projectiles :2guns firing_v1:

Re: Suffolk County Officer Stabbed, The Perp is Killed

Knife lethal can be extremely fast.. luckily back up was on station
This video, among many on this site, show just how dangerous knives are. Hence why the "21 foot rule" (Tueller Principle) is so important, even for private citizens. Cop ran backwards and tripped because of that and the snow and dude was much taller than them. Initial advantage to the would-be murderer. This is also why a baseline number of cops for such calls should be standard as it allows for less/non-lethal options.

Shooting officer closed the gap (which negates the skill level needed to be accurate) and took out the trash.

Well done!

Re: Suffolk County Officer Stabbed, The Perp is Killed

Mentally Ill, maybe, but states around the country are starting to send mental health professionals along with officers. Cops are cops not psychologists, hostage negotiators, and they can't be expected to be. When someone in crisis sees guys in body armor, guns, they are not likely to be more calm. Hell, I saw a special needd kid lying in a parking lot. Cruiser was on the scene, just making sure nobody ran him over. I saw him look at the cop, say "fuck you.. fucking pig". This is a severely disabled person who STILL had the perception that the officer wasn't there to help, but a threat.
That being said, that goes out the window when you have a psychotic coming at you with a knife. Sadly, you gots to go!!
I agree. Unless they have their own body armor and a gun, or at least a taser, the only thing that sending a ‘mental health professional’ with the police in exactly this type of situation is to put another potential victim in front of the perpetrator.
WHY on earth would they do that when the police are supposed to protect everyone!? It makes NO sense at all. That’s the same as letting a family member near the perpetrator to help calm them…It’s not the time or place for that. It doesn’t WORK.
Take this guy, he just busted out the door with knife in hand, ready to kill. What on earth would a freaking ‘health professional’ do here?
I’m sorry, this sounds like a fucking democrat decision… They NEVER think about what will happen next when they implement these stupid edicts. Example: What will happen if you put a ‘health professional’ in this very dangerous situation??
This. This is what could happen. They could be killed.
VERY stupid decision. Putting someone in imminent danger…

Excellent reaction time!
I disagree. There seemed to be a pause there that allowed the officer to be stabbed. I've watched plenty of police shooting videos and the reaction here was definitely delayed.

Of course he was from Bayshore, lol. SCPD is scum that will give an 8 year old a ticket for making a rolling stop through a stopsign on a bike.

But jacked dudes from Bayshore? I've seen them walk through tasers. I seen one who was getting tased, and had to be physically shoved to the ground. He fell into the support beam of his car port and knocked it down lol
