Check out the one person at the 6:09 mark in the first vid (6:14 in better version) stumbling out completely covered in flames. Looks to be the very last person who made it out alive.

why is this footage so shitty? I remember watching the video when it happened and you could clearly see too many people trying to get out the door but they were stuck and screaming. Where's that footage? And they showed it on regular news like nbc or cbs or something.

Sprinklers probably not required at all or at time of construction. Fire marshall should have yearly inspection for high occupancy establishments and caught the risks. Club owner is responsible imo. A cigarette in a trash can could have started this fire. |

I remember hearing about this when it happened and seeing the subsequent videos. It's just unbelievable how fucked up everything got in less than 2 minutes. So many things went wrong on all fronts. First the band had pyro in a cramped club; second the club had exposed insulation and noise dampening material with no fire retardant; third the place had a badly designed main exit which forced people into a narrow hallway; fourth there were no sprinklers. I mean, what the actual fuck were they thinking?

Am I the only one who wanted to slap the woman @ 4:01? "I burnt my hair...oh my god I'm bleeding" as people are screaming in agony dying from fire,smoke,or being crushed. People never cease to amaze me.  |
