Rhode Island is such a small state that when this happened, many MANY people were affected by this devastating tragedy. My husband at the time lost his friend, Dr. Metal that worked for WHJY (local rock radio station) in the fire. Ironically, his best friend was also supposed to be at the Station to see that show but his son was ill and he was in the ER with him. The same ER that all the injured victims from the fire were transported. I had been to the Station before and it was indeed a very small place. The smoke was so thick and the fire spread so quickly it would be easy to become disoriented especially when you are in a panic. My heart goes out to the victims and families of this horrific tragedy. I just hope that we learn from the many mistakes that occurred and hope that this never happens again.  |

I remember reading a story, there was this guy who took his wife and her sister tho that concert if my memory doesn't fail me, his sister in law decided to go to the restroom moments previous to the fire starting, the couple survived but the girl was left in the restroom while the fire developed, I've always have thought about her horror as she opened the restroom door and have a raging inferno before her eyes! Unimaginable!
