Re: Split in Half After Killing Himself By Train

Yeah, if that were my kid, I sure wouldn't be sticking my face in his guts like Pops in the video.
You'd be surprised. I've seen it on shows like the First 48 where parents often comment on how they wish they could embrace their dead children; they often lament having to wait to see the bodies until after autopsy and what have you. More recently, they can't touch them after ID'ing the body and they'll say things like, "They looked cold and I wanted to give them a blanket." It's heartbreaking.

I'm sure it's not all parents, of course, but the sentiment exists and is all too real. Same goes for that discovery/death notification scream. It hurts you in your soul.

Re: Split in Half After Killing Himself By Train

Those moments really get to me more than all the gore on Earth. Those last few moments where time slows, this is your last chance to feel them, that familiarity. You try to etch everything in your mind, how they felt, their smell, the feel of their hair, hold their hand....it's so surreal. A very powerful example I'm reminded of is the small film The Last Mother's Day of Avery Niell....as she hands her child away for the last time, the hospice nurse tells her to just hold onto her husband...anyway this all just really hit me today I guess...
