Brazil, A car hit 42-year-old C.K, who was confirmed dead after she was being taken to hospital by the municipality ambulance late Tuesday afternoon.

The woman was biking together with friends and stopped on the side of the highway, off the track, at the "bend of the curve" as this spot is known.

She and her friends were talking when the car, who was going in the same direction, while making the turn hit her and throwing her 40 meters away from the point of the hit, indicating that he was at a speed incompatible with the permit.

At the time the woman was rescued, she was unconscious and showed no vital signs, with her death confirmed minutes later in the hospital.

The car driver stayed on the spot and he was taken to hospital with minor injuries.

The Military Police were called in to perform the ethylometer test as it was suspected that the driver might be intoxicated, but as he was in hospital the officers couldn't perform the test and returned without being able to check whether there was alcohol in the driver's blood.

The Military Police responded to the incident and carried out all procedures that should be directed to the Civil Police.
