I believe she is following a ritual where, after the body of a loved one is placed in the open long enough to decompose, it is removed. The bones are then cleaned and placed in a ceramic jar or a box which then placed in a small family mausoleum or, if they are poor, the bones may be interred into a wall or mud floor of the family home. They are just bones after all. To each their own.
