Sluice Attendant Was Crushed to Death By Boulder
A 54-year-old sluice attendant, Leevorn S.M., died after he was crushed under the sluice counterweight - a three-ton boulder - in Demerara-Mahaica region, Guyana. Leevorn's son-in-law reported that both he and Leevorn worked at the sluice, but on different shifts. When the son-in-law arrived for his shift, he found Leevorn had been fatally crushed. |
