I believe the heart is a little lower and slightly to his left. didn't take out the pulmonary vein(how I don't know) or he would have drowned in his own blood lickety-split. I'm pretty sure he lost a significant portion of the upper left lung, died from combination of hemothorax and shock. proper first responder could have saved him.(just my humble Combat Medic opinion...)
