Paraguay. Fabiola M. R. W.(32) passed away after a violent assault and leaves a 6-year-old orphaned. She maintained a 10-year relationship with Abner J. S. (29), who days ago had proposed to her during her b'day.

The wedding was to take place with the arrival of his mother from Spain.

The couple owned a Cellulares Technical Assistance shop. Minutes before the assault, the son of both was at the premises but had gone out looking for food.

Security cameras captured the armed confrontation between the merchant and the criminal. During the exchange of shots, another projectile fired by the owner of the business hit the assailant, who died on the spot.

The criminal who was shot was identified as Fredy J. G., 23 years old, who had a history of family violence. His accomplice, Arnaldo J. G. B.(19), was arrested. A 9 mm caliber firearm and a blue Kenton GTR motorcycle used for the assault were seized.

According to preliminary data from the police investigation and the prosecutor's office, the hypothesis that one of the shots fired by the owner of the premises fatally hit his partner is not ruled out.

I want to say it was shot number 2 that did it. You can see after the first shot he looked away and shot blindly after his hand recoiled. The criminal put them in that situation but he spray and prayed at the wrong time.

Hm... I can't be the first to wonder if SOMEone, possibly several someones by now, has ever hired a sicario to come do a 'hit' on them, to give them an excuse to accidentally kill their business partner, lover, ex, etc. Probably an extremely high paying gig, with a promise implied or explicit: I won't actually shoot YOU, just my partner. :)

I highly doubt that was the case in this situation. He'd just proposed to her and if his reaction was faked, then he deserves an academy award.

A very sad set of circumstances. I blame the 23 year old who walked in brandishing a firearm. Good riddance to him.

Agreed, in THIS situation: just musing out loud generally around the practice. If one can hire a sicario, having THEM do the job is surely simpler. But with machismo, grudges, mental illness etc... I'll bet it's happened.
