I believe it is not anti Eastern. more like avoiding the creation of a hero. the Crimea was part of Ukraina, till 2014 when the Russians took it over. For decades Russians migrated to the Crimea, with compliments of the Rus. goverment. to establish a foothold. for as we now know an annexation. btw most oil and gas reserves of the region are located near the Crimea. |

Because USA and Russia/eastern europe let the civilians use firearms, they need to demonize it enough to remove them from the population so an uprising can never happen if it needs to.
