Re: The Shooting of Alton Sterling
It's pretty obvious he was reaching into his right pocket with his right hand based on shoulder movement. That's the same pocket with the gun. This was also a response to a call of a man threating someone with a gun. Surprise surprise, he had a gun. If he kept his hand out of his fucking pocket, the cop wouldn't have seen the gun and this wouldn't have ended the way it ended. Now it's up for debate whether or not he intended to use the gun or made a poor decision to try to toss it under the car, but the second the cop saw the gun and exclaimed "he's got a gun" and the other cop said "do not fucking move" that should have been the key moment to fucking comply. To me, it sounds like he actually did pop off a round (into his pants) while fumbling in his pocket after the cop shot the first bullet, which prompted the second cop to bail, and he must have been still trying to either get the gun out of his pocket or something because they shot again after telling him to stop. In either case, I don't think the cops did anything wrong. They responded to a dangerous call with caution, told the dumb ass to comply, he didn't, tased twice ordered to comply, didn't, tackled told to comply, didn't, reached for gun told to stop, didn't. I don't see how much more the cops could have done here. |

Re: The Shooting of Alton Sterling
I don't think the police will be charged in this. He has a gun, and was not complying with orders. Typically when police die in the line of duty it is because they didn't control the scene well enough. Watching the other angle I can't help but think that this might have been an accidental shooting. |

Re: The Shooting of Alton Sterling
I can't believe the amount of comments implying this guy deserved death because he didn't comply. He was on the ground when he was shot. They shot him at point blank range, and not just once. Yes he was a criminal, so you want police to have the power to execute anyone charged or accused of a crime? Is that how you want it? I think some of you should go and live in North Korea and see how you like it.

Re: The Shooting of Alton Sterling
If you take a good look at those cops, they weren't people, they were steroids with feet. They were two cases of roid-rage looking for someone to kill. Steroid abuse among local police is going crazy in this country and still nobody gets tested for it. Any officer that carries a gun should be tested monthly and taken out of service and rehabbed if they test positive, if it goes so far you can see physical changes on the abuser it's too late, they will be psycho for good. |
