Seven Honduran Police Officers Killed When Truck Crashed Into Bus
Comayagua, Honduras Seven police officers - five women and two men - were killed and more than twenty were injured when a semi-trailer truck collided into the side of a police bus whilst both vehicles were travelling along the dangerous 'El Rodeo' hill, among the most dangerous sections of the CA-5 highway. Approximately 35 police officers were on the bus, returning after picking up police uniforms. It is thought the truck crossed into the lane where the bus was travelling. |

The driver was one of the two male officers killed instantly in the catastrophic impact on the driver's side of the cabin. He was identified by local forensic investigators as José Joaquín Alvarenga Altamirano;
