Re: Security Guard and Robber Fatally Shoot Each Other Inside Pharmacy
No matter how many times I look at people getting their brains blown out or slowly bleeding to death. Someone getting their spine shot out and impotently flailing around on the ground while their legs don't work will always freak me out. Body armor is cheap. Physio is expensive.

Sad that the security guard looked like he suffered more |

It probably nicked the descending aorta where it supplies the spinal cord. Otherwise, he probably wouldn't have bled out.

Re: Security Guard and Robber Fatally Shoot Each Other Inside Pharmacy
Spinal gunshots are actually fairly predictable. Watching it again, he doesn't have any use of his hands and limited use of his wrists. That's consistent with a lower cervical SCI. If the diaphragm was affected, he probably wouldn't have any use of his arms. In light of this observation, I think the guard actually got off two shots. The first hit him in the left abdomen, while the second caught him somewhere near the base of the neck. That would explain the blood on the floor under his right shoulder when he rolls over. |

It also looks like he's lost use of his right triceps and has weak triceps on the left. That's consistent with a C6-7 level of injury.
