The shoplifter was a piece of filth but the security guard only shot because he was winded, maybe shouldn't have been lifting her up off the ground and exerting that energy if he couldn't handle it.

Yes, I read this part of the article. That doesn’t change anything. There was another case in Florida(?) where a guy pushed over another man regarding a handicapped parking spot. The guy on the ground shot him dead on the basis of Stand Your Ground. Guess what? He was convicted and sentenced to prison for something like 20 years if I’m not mistaken.

So, this conclusion reached by the DA is very disappointing and quite surprising for what I thought San Francisco stood for. As I explained above, it really seems to depend on what judge/DA you get on any specific day, but if this stands, it is setting a very dangerous precedent for San Fran. One that could see criminals match this new level of aggression with firearms instead of the current shoplifting without violence incidents.

Or, maybe criminals will think twice about stealing! Like, wow you mean I can get in trouble for breaking the law? I can get shot for telling somebody I’m going to stab them? Thought provoking indeed!

Yes. That is what the DA and Dem leadership have established in Cali. Smash and grab upwards of 950 is a misdemeanor. Businesses and people are fed up. So this is the result.
