My brother is a bipolar, schizophrenic. He would never hurt a fly. I look out for him, and also actually look for signs that he could be violent but he's not the type

Shit, sorry to hear. My friends mom who lived across the street blew her brains out with a shotgun. Me and my other friend broke in to check out the scene weeks later. The carpet was cut and the wall crudely painted over where she did it.
