Two people were killed in a blast late Monday (31) in a tire vulcanizer building, located in BR-316, in a town in the interior of Maranhão. According to the Fire Department, the vulcanizer operated clandestinely and had 10 employees. However, only three were in place when the explosion occurred. Two of them were next to the boiler that exploded and their bodies were shattered. The third employee, identified as Gilvan Almeida, was maintaining another boiler that would replace the one that exploded. To the firemen, the metallurgical welder said that the boiler already presented problems and only measures palliative was adopted. The Civil Police has opened an investigation to investigate the causes, the owner can answer for manslaughter and the place interdicted by the Fire Department. The officials who were victims of the explosion were identified only by the names of Junior and Everton Damião de Oliveira Damião. The cause of the blast has not yet been determined.   |
