"Iraqi extremists Ansar al-Sunnah are one of the more notorious Salafi groups. They were behind many execution videos filmed in Iraq, including execution of 12 Nepalese Workers, beheading of alleged spy Ala al Maliki, beheading of Seif Adnan Kanaan, and others. As of recently, Ansar al-Sunnah’s main focus has been on Syria where – sponsored by Qatar and Saudi Arabia – many key operatives moved to execute terrorist attacks alongside their Sunni brethren."
