So no matter whose convoy this actually is, it's been made pretty obvious that Russia cannot win a selective, direct assault with ground forces, what with being unable to gain air superiority. But now they seem to be shifting to their doctrine of just nuking the site from orbit, preparing for saturation bombardment of the city centers with thermobaric missiles, artillery and other such fun stuff, indiscriminately murdering civilians. Only then may the tide of battle turn in Russia's favor for a while, but at what cost? They'll be "taking over" a country that's reduced to rubble, with the remaining populace hating their guts for generations to come, and having every reason to fight to the last man and child. It'll be (insert failed US invasion/"intervention") all over again, a pyrrhic victory at best. |

still they will eventually take over Ukraine. Now, NOW is the time for Nato to go all in, with the russian forces degraded from combat operations and losses, we hit them now with all the modern combat power NATO has. F35s, Rafales, Tornados, Eurofighters, B2s, B1s, UAVs, the works.

Even the relatively conservative estimates in Ukrainian-friendly maps show very clearly Russian forces encircling the strategically significant cities they can afford to do so with rather than outright conquering them, Kherson notably being a big exception in the need to restore water flow to Crimea and more immediately gain access across the Dnieper. Beyond that, if they can pull off "soft" sieges, that's exactly what they have been doing and will continue to do. And I don't mean that to be dismissive of the violence they're inflicting as an invading force; but coming from OIF II, it's absolutely wild seeing the restraint these Russians are employing. Mariupol would be fuckin' future cropland at this point.

Lmao @ the people saying russi isn't a super power. You can literally scroll back the videos on this website to the mid 2000's and see burnt and shot up Americans who went up against fucking peasant goat herders. There will always be death and casualties in war now matter how superior the military is. If it could be done with no deatht then there'd be no reason for war in the first place.
