Re: Russian Pharmacy Robber Cuts Artery and Bleeds Out While Trying to Escape
100% survivable with proper and swift application of a tourniquet. How many soldiers get double leg amputations yet survive?

Re: Russian Pharmacy Robber Cuts Artery and Bleeds Out While Trying to Escape
Any Dr’s in here that can tell me how people frequently survive a traumatic leg amputation but not a puncture to the femoral artery. Is it all about location? Like the groin is fatal but it’s more survivable the lower it goes?

Re: Russian Pharmacy Robber Cuts Artery and Bleeds Out While Trying to Escape
The key is clean cut, vs crushing. The same reason its best to let the mother dog chew the puppies umbilical vs cutting it with scissors. The bodies reaction is also to retract the severed blood vessel up into the muscle while simultaneously contracting the surrounding muscles, squeezing it. A gun shot or piercing/penetrating wound that does NOT fully sever the blood vessel, doesn't allow this retraction to take place. |

I feel bad for the shop workers who have to clean that mess up.
