good point. they might be able to launch the driverless cars in the future but there will always be many brainless pedestrian who would manage to get themselves mangled on the road. so who will be blamed? its almost the same thing with trains. they run on fixed isolated tracks and there's still people who gets themselves killed by it. only possible difference in the train, trams and driverless cars is they might be able to install obstacle sensors on these hitech cars. although i have yet to see a car that runs say 40mph and can stop a split second within a 12 inches distance if somebody decides to suddenly walk in front of it. |

It didn't help that the victims were all too busy being oblivious to their surroundings with their faces buried in their phones, else they might have saw it coming or could have responded.
