To me, they look like cheerleaders being chased by a train. They'd have been clear if they had run off to the side. Instead they tried to keep ahead of it. Watch the video a few times. 3 steps and they would have been out of danger.

Both victims stopped in their tracks and tried to reverse direction. It must have looked to them like the roof was vectoring to impact in front of them, but the roof must have twisted or bounced off the building at the last minute. When I am evading falling tree branches, I run like hell forward through my clear zone, and don't waste much time studying the fall path, which can change in an instant. |
