Maxim went by the name 'Tesak' which means 'hatchet' or 'cleaver' in Russian. I have uploaded to your post Simone some rather bizarre photos of him humiliating members of the LGBT community there. Seems he made a real sport of it, and garnered some kind of reputation or cult following over there... In the photo where Maxim wears a blue hooded top with a couple of observers sitting close behind him, the man being degraded on camera has writing scribbled onto his chest. It's a derogatory Russian term similar in meaning to the English word for 'f@gg*t'. Gives you an insight into the mind of this individual and why he's probably dead now. What goes around comes around I guess. He made some enemies that's for sure, not to mention he was also staunch vocal critic of Vladimir Putin's presidency.  ·  ·  ·  ·  · |

You're not far off actually. More of a machete or cleaver than a hatchet described in the documentary. But lots of words and subtexts often get lost in translation. Russian is one of those languages. Bit of useless information here; the letter 'C' in Russian Cyrillic is used the same way as you would use an 'S' in English. So it's spelled and pronounced 'Tecak' - English was not my first language  And yes, looks like his actions finally caught up to him.
