For the fourth day in a row, the whole country is following the search for tourist Diana, 20, from the Lipetsk region who drowned in the waters of Sochi.

The day before, a video of the last minutes of her life appeared on social networks - in the recording, she and her her friend stand knee-deep in water, and then the waves carry her away. Now new details of the incident in the resort town have emerged.

The girl graduated from a pedagogical college, dreamed of becoming a model and often arranged daring photo shoots for herself. There is also information that shortly before the vacation she broke up with her boyfriend. So she went on the trip with a certain 31-year-old Andrei, whom his relatives simply call a friend.

On June 16, the day after arriving in Lazarevskoye, Diana went for a walk around Sochi bars with two young men, Andrei and Denis. With the first she came to the Krasnodar region from Usman, the second met friends at the station.

After the walk, Diana decided to “get her feet wet.” Andrei began to persuade his friend not to go near the water and pointed out the large waves, but the girl was not afraid. The following dialogue took place between them.

As a result, Diana went to the seashore in the company of Denis. At first the girl really only got her feet wet, but then she went even further. Denis tried to stop his friend, they both fell, and within a moment Diana found herself in the water.

As her friends told investigators, they saw Diana's head above the water for about five more minutes, and then her friend disappeared. When the guys ran up to the man in the lifeboat, he refused to get into the water, explaining that he couldn’t swim. Andrey and Denis did not see any life preservers nearby. Other vacationers were afraid to swim after the girl.

Rescuers arrived at the scene when Diana was already sucked into the sea tug.

The sea is scary Years ago in Jamestown RH, I remember my brother fully clothed tempting fate and squatting on some rocks near the shore surrounded by the ocean and the waves were just like in this video. One wave knocked him clear to the shore on dry land about 30' away rather than sucked him up like the poor girl in this video. I laughed and laughed and laughed, not considering how deadly and treacherous the sea could be.

That was a brutal surf. The undertow no doubt grabbed her dress and pulled her out into the breakers. It is very hard to get any air when being tumbled in breakers. She was very quickly inhaling water. Best thing she could have done was take a deep breath and shed her dress at the onset. Much easier said than done though.

Nothing the boy could do once she was grabbed. If he had found a way to enter that surf, he would have immediately been fighting for his life too.

FUN FACTS ~ Even with the 100° weather this week, the water temperature at Hampton Beach in NH today is 59°… Cold enough to kill. It’ll get up to 65°, but no more.
Normally after being in the water, you just start getting numb and it aches. You just can’t stay very long. It’s like how your hand feels when you try to hold onto an ice cube.

Those questioning the guy’s ability here must be very unfamiliar with the ocean. With that surf, there is no way you are saving her, I don’t care if you are Michael Phelps. When the guy tried to go over the wave, I held my breath because I thought it smashed him to pieces. You go under the wave, not over it.

yeh perfect water to be romantic in. i’m not staying if the shore starts turning into overhead waves. once’s the waves at shore get that big it’s time to GO.
