Military police officer D. C. d. S, 34, died on Friday night, when he tried to prevent an assault on a Casa & Vídeo store in the Mesquita Center, in Baixada Fluminense. The victim, who was shot in the head, was sent to the General Hospital of Nova Iguaçu (HGNI) in a very serious condition, underwent surgery, but could not resist the injuries.

He was overbooked at 20º BPM (Mesquita) and leaves a wife and two children. There is still no information on the date and place of his burial.

Images from the establishment's security cameras show the exact moment when the police officer is hit. One of the criminals, identified as J. S. T, appears in a white blouse with a gun in his hand and arrives behind the PM, firing a short shot in the head.

There are also reports that other criminals, who also participated in the attempted robbery, fled in a car from Mesquita Prefecture, taking hostages.

Sought, the Military Police reported that the people were released and the vehicle abandoned by the criminals, on Avenida Brasil, Realengo height. The occurrence is underway to locate and arrest the bandits.
