Watch the video. The robber was threatening people with a (an apparent) gun. Once you threaten deadly force, then deadly force is justified to stop the threat. Innocent people should not have to cross their fingers and hope the robber doesn't try to snuff out people when he gets to the door. Any robber could be high as a kite and bat shit crazy. Who knows?

Cops are trained to empty their magazines into such threats for a reason. What if the robber fakes dead then fires off again once he is approached at close range. It happens. The citizen had every right to walk at the fallen robber shooting to assure he was indeed dead and no longer a threat.

The innocent citizen has no duty to take risks. Kill and disarm is the only safe way to defend a gun threat, not wound and disarm.
